The Setup Overtime screen is to set the values used to calculate overtime. It allows you to set overtime to calculate per hours worked in a day, hours worked in a period, or both. Seventh day overtime is also available. The overtime setup is global and allows you to add separate settings for nonexempt and exempt employees.

Step 2. Click Times/Commissions on the Dealership Payroll menu.
Step 3. Click Time Clock on the Times/Commissions menu.
Step 4. Click Setup on the Time Clock menu.
Step 5. Click Overtime Setup on the Time Clock Setup screen.
Step 6. The screen defaults to the NonExempt tab.
|Tip: With the exception of the Week Start Day field, you enter information in the fields on the NonExempt and the Exempt tabs the same way.|
Step 7. The two daily fields at the top of the screen allow you to set overtime and double time values if overtime is paid based on the number of hours worked per day. Click to select the box on the line if daily overtime and/or daily double time applies. Then, enter the hours after which the corresponding overtime calculation should be used.
Step 8. The two weekly fields allow you to set overtime and double time if overtime is paid based on the number of hours worked per week (period). Click to select the box on the line if weekly overtime and/or weekly double time applies. Then, enter the hours after which the corresponding overtime calculation should be used.
|Tip: You can use the daily and weekly settings together to calculate overtime based on the number of hours worked per day and per period. Any hours worked over the daily hours and over the weekly hours will be calculated based on overtime rate. However, once hours are used to calculate overtime for a day, they will not be used again to calculate overtime for the week.|
Step 9. If seventh day overtime (the employee works seven days in a week) applies, select the Apply 7th Day Overtime box.
Step. 10. Select the Week Start Day from the list. (Note that the start day can only be selected on the NonExempt tab.)
Step 11. In the max field, enter the max overtime hours for the seventh day. Any hours worked over the max amount will calculate as double time.

Step. 13 Add the information in each field.
Step 14. Click Save to save the information.
Step 15. Click Back to close the screen.
