Accounting Tip: Easily Editing the Taxable Amount on Counter Slips and Service Tickets
Did you know you can easily adjust the taxable amount on counter slips and service tickets?
To add, remove, or change a taxable amount on counter slips or service tickets, while the transaction is open in the Sales Journal Entries screen, simply type the letter T in the G/L field of the working line and press ENTER on your keyboard. This moves your cursor to the Taxable field, where you can adjust the taxable amount.
Fixed Ops Tip: Using the Op Code Detail Menu
Use the Op Code Detail menu to generate an operation code detail report for a selected date range, helping you identify the Op code used for each repair order.
This list provides important information about the Op code usage for your analysis. Use the Op Code Detail menu's Generate Op Code Detail option to generate the detail for a specific date range. You can then view all the detail or use the remaining Op Code Detail menu options to view the information using a specific filter.
The report can either be viewed on screen, sent to the printer, or exported as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
To access the Op Code Detail Report, follow these steps:
Step 1. From the Service Writing menu, select Reports & Updates. The Service Reports/Updates menu opens.
Step 2. Select Miscellaneous Service Reports. The menu of the same name opens.
Step 3. Click Op Code Detail. The Op Code Detail menu opens.
Step 4. Select Generate Op Code Detail.
Step 5. Type the From and To dates for the report's date range.
Step 6. Select your print criteria and click Print.
Step 7. The system will prompt you to verify you wish to include repairs even if no labor op has been entered. Click Yes to include those repairs or No to omit them.
Step 8. A pop-up notifies you when the report is complete. The message reveals that the printed report is only a partial representation of the compiled data and directs you to the location of the complete set of data. Click OK to acknowledge the message.
Step 9. Use the remaining Op Code Detail menu options to view the information using a specific filter (Op Codes by Code, Op Codes by Advisor/Writer, and Op Codes by Tech).
Step 10. A pop-up opens, notifying you that a full set of compiled data exists. This pop-up provides the date and time stamp of the latest Op Code Detail Report and the date range covered in the report. To use the data, click OK.
Step 11. Depending on the menu option you selected, additional information is required (Op Code, Advisor/Writer ID, or Tech ID). Enter the information, select to send the report to the printer or to view it on screen and click Print.
Sales and F&I Tip: Speeding Up Common Tasks with Favorites
Manage your favorites within Autosoft's Sales and F&I application to speed up common tasks.
Click the Favorites (star) icon in the upper-right corner of any page within Sales and F&I to open the Favorites menu. Here, you can add Internal Favorites (think deals or customers) or External Favorites (such as common classified websites) by clicking the Add (+) icon next to the corresponding header and entering the necessary information.
To manage Favorites you’ve already created, including resorting and deleting them, click any of the three gray headers (Quick Actions, Internal Favorites, and External Favorites) within the Favorites menu. A window opens that allows you to drag and drop your favorites into the order you’d like. You can also use the Remove (-) icon to the far right of the favorited item to delete it.
And don’t forget that you can use the Popout icon (the arrow pointing up and to the right) to open a favorite in a new browser tab.
