If your dealership uses subsources to manage the parts inventory, use the SubSource Management button at the bottom of the Integrated Parts Posting Parameters screen to set the Accounting information for the subsources. You will specify the general ledger accounts used to post parts sales for each subsource. The Parts Departments created the subsources. Subsource 000 is the default subsource. If a part does not have a subsource set or if a part has a subsource set that is not defined in the parameters, 000 is used as the default.
Step 1. From the FLEX DMS start up menu, click Accounting.
Step 2. On the Dealership Accounting main menu, click Setup.
Step 3. The System Setup menu opens. Click Integrated Parts Sales.
Step 4. On the Integrated Parts Sales Posting Parameters screen, click SubSource Management. The SubSource Management screen opens.
Step 5. A list on the right side of the screen contains all the subsources the Parts Department created. Click a subsource to select it.
Step 6. Enter the Inventory, Sale, and Cost accounts used for posting sales for parts in this subsource.
Step 7. Click Save.
Step 8. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each subsource for which you must add accounts.
Step 9. When you are finished entering the accounts for all the subsources, click Exit to close the screen.
