Accounting Tip: Moving a Document from One Month to Another
You can easily move a document from one posting month to another by following these steps:

Step 1. From the Dealership Accounting main menu, select Journal Entries. The Journal Entries menu will open.

Step 2. Select Journal Utilities. The menu of the same name will open. 

Step 3. Select Reverse a Posted Document.

Step 4. In the Document field, type the document number of the item you want to move.

Step 5. Click the Move button and print the document to screen or send to the printer.

Step 6. You will be asked to verify you want to move the document. Click OK to continue.

Note:  You can only move a document between current and post ahead. You also do not want to do this for a vehicle sale.


Fixed Ops Tip: Parts Special Inventories and Maintenance
The price tape update for the month may update various pieces of information for a part. If you do not want a part’s record updated by your monthly Part Pricing Update, you can use the Special Inventories menu to ensure the part’s record retains the information you specify.

Step 1. From the Parts Inventory main menu, select Special Inventories. The Special Inventories & Maintenance menu will open.

Step 2. Select Special Inventory Updates to open the menu of the same name.

Step 3. Click Enter Special Parts Data. The Enter Inventory Update Data screen will open. 

Step 4. Use this screen to enter parts information that you want to ensure is retained in the part's record within the OEM Master Inventory. Fields left blank will default to the data from the OEM Master Inventory. 

Step 5. Click Save to save and apply the changes you've made here. 


F&I Tips: Deal Tabs Naming Not Required
You can create new deal tabs without first assigning a name to each tab, saving you an extra step and helping expedite the sales process.

When a new deal is created, the tab will be named “New Quote.” Once you assign an applicant to the deal, the name will be changed to the applicant’s last name.

To enable this functionality: 

Step 1. Click the Admin link at the top of the FLEX F&I screen. The Setup menu opens in the left navigation panel. 

Step 2. Under the Finance header in the navigation panel, select Setup.

Step 3. Click to check the Suppress Deal Name Prompt checkbox.

Step 4. Click Save.
