Use the Service Technician Costs button on the Integrated Service Sales Posting Setup menu to assign technician codes and cost-per-hour figures for up to 10 levels of customer pay, warranty, and internal work.
To add a new technician to the setup, follow these steps:
Step 1. From the Dealership Accounting main menu, select Setup. The System Setup menu will open.
Step 2. Click Integrated Service Sales. The Integrated Service Sales Posting Setup menu will open.
Step 3. From the Integrated Service Sales Posting Setup menu, click Service Technician Costs.
Step 4. On the Technician Information screen, use the Technician Number field to enter the technician’s ID number.
Step 5. In the Short Name field, enter the technician’s nickname or a preferred name the technician goes by.
Step 6. In Full Name, enter the technician’s full name.
Step 7. In Flat/Hourly (F/H), indicate how the technician is paid. Type F for flat rate or H for hourly rate.
Step 8. In the Full Social field, type the technician’s social security number.
Step 9. Enter the technician’s State ID Number.
Step 10. In the Cost Per Hour section, type the technician’s cost per hour as a percentage or a dollar amount. Use the $/% field to indicate if the value is a dollar amount or percentage. Be sure to enter rates for each of the three service types: customer pay, warranty, and internal. (Click Fill Down to fill in the remaining rows in each column with the rate entered on the first line if the technician’s rate should be the same for each line.)
Step 11. Click Save to save the information. The technician is displayed in the list on the right side of the screen.
